I guess that why I'm prone to drafting in writing partners as a form of mutual support. If one part of the partnership loses interest, the other might be able to refloat that particular boat and keep the ideas flowing. ahem - thats not always been my most successful method, however. The exception being my dear friend Suzy with whom I'm writing a Stranded fanfiction - though in that case, we're actually creating two separate parts of the same story and just getting our facts and figures surrounding events to mesh rather than collaborating on one single story. I think, Jaine, you mentioned somewhere about leaving a project to stand for a while then revisiting it at a later date causing a resurgence of interest? I have to admit, that approach doesn't usually work for me. However, last night I did come across a segment of a story I wrote in an old notebook - it was apparently an introduction to a larger story. I found it fascinating to read but I have no idea what my intended plot was! *lol* And I'm curious as to where I might take the story if and when I begin writing it again. Hehe. I might post it on the forum for folks to look at and see what kind of response it gets. Would it be helpful, perhaps, to think of possible causes for loss of motivation /writers block? I always find an excess of work in other sectors puts me off writing - case in point, right now I have three... no, FOUR websites to build, several forums to maintain, Facebook groups to caretake, research and interview transcripts to do and generally the rest of the time is taken up by long working days and lack of sleep. I guess you can see how it would knock your writing time and enthusiasm right through the floor. :S *sighs* Speaking of which, I better slide off onto the next big thing and get writing. Chat soon, everyone! Debz.
